Traditional Archery& Khuru

Archery is more than just a national sport. It's an activity most Bhutanese men engage in and offers the opportunity for a get-together among friends and socializing with other players. Played almost every weekend, during festivals and numerous tournaments are held throughout the year.

Khuru, a traditional dart game is also a festive game, popular in the villages. Unlike the darts in the west, Bhutanese darts are bigger; they are made of wood with a five-inch nail hammered at the bottom and feathers adorning it. This is an outdoor game where the darts are thrown at targets placed between a distance of about 40 meters.

Biking in Paro

Paro's low traffic, unpolluted air and natural tranquility make it an ideal place for mountain biking. Your biking experience through the valley will introduce you to many charming aspects of the Bhutanese way of life. The necessary equipments are available on request at the front desk.

Horse Riding

Those who are less inclined to rigorous hiking can still enjoy going to more remote locations on horse back. Riding ponies can be arranged on request

Camping

The Paro valley provides innumerable hiking opportunities from short walks to half day and full day hiking options to monasteries, temples and villages perched on hill tops. For the more adventurous Zhiwa Ling offers the opportunity to hike longer and further by providing overnight camping services.
